At Series, we’re building entertainment experiences that weren’t possible yesterday. That kind of ambition demands more than just vision, it demands the right people. So when we hire, it’s not about filling roles. It’s about shaping the future of our studio.
Hiring With Intent, Not Urgency
There’s often pressure in this industry to move fast. To fill seats quickly. To “just get someone in.” But what we’ve learned at Series is that real innovation doesn’t come from speed alone, it comes from passion and talent density.
Every hire we make is an opportunity to raise the bar. To add someone who doesn’t just fit the role, but expands what that role can be. Someone who pushes the thinking in the room, who levels up their teammates, and who strengthens our ability to build truly original, player-first experiences.
And that means saying no… a lot. No to great people who aren’t quite right. No to the easy route. No to short-term fixes that don’t serve our long-term vision.
It’s not always easy. But it is worth it.
How We Identify “Raise the Bar” Talent
We’ve designed our recruiting process to surface the kinds of people who make teams better; not just technically, but creatively and culturally.
For most roles, candidates go through a multi-step interview process that includes 3–4 conversations, a live skills-based test, and a dedicated culture interview. Each stage is intentional.
The skills interview and test give us a window into how candidates think, solve problems, and collaborate under real-world conditions. We want to see their craft, how they work under pressure, how they communicate ideas, and how they adapt in real time.
Just as important is the culture interview. We’re not interested in hiring “rockstars” who can’t collaborate. We want people who can thrive in our environment; one that values ownership, honesty, play, and creative risk. That interview helps us understand how candidates give and receive feedback, how they navigate ambiguity, and whether they’ll help raise the standard for everyone around them.
It’s not the fastest way to hire, but it’s the right one for us. We’ve built a process that gives us real insights and helps ensure that every hire brings more than just skill; they bring momentum to the whole team.
The Payoff of High Standards
We’re incredibly proud of the team we’re building. These are people who’ve worked on global hits and scrappy indies, who’ve built engines and told stories, who thrive in ambiguity and genuinely love to collaborate.
And the magic is this: when you assemble a team of people all operating at a high level, something exponential happens. Employees learn faster. They push the quality of the work forward. You don’t need heavy process or bureaucracy because people are aligned, accountable, and raising the bar for each other in real time.
That’s the real multiplier effect of a high-talent-density team. And that’s what we’re committed to building.
Building What’s Next!
Building with this level of intention takes care, consistency, and a willingness to hold the line. But it’s what makes the work better and our team stronger. I’m incredibly proud of the group we’re assembling here at Series, and even more excited about what’s ahead.
